Breakfast at FUSION
Living a
glamorous Audrey Hepburn life, but with a modern twist.

hat is the first thing that pops into your head when you hear
Audrey Hepburn? Is it the fact she wore a Givenchy dress in the first scene of
Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Is it Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Roman Holiday? To me, it’s
her glamorous iconic fashion, which some people say died with her. I have
always wondered what Audrey Hepburn would be like in this era, how her glamour
would have altered to fit in the new fashion that is growing to this day. I
mean I wouldn’t picture Audrey in the new Urban ripped jeans, bomber jacket
style, but I would imagine her being in a modernised formal casual look. Audrey
herself outshined the character she played in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holly,
who was unbelievably glamorous and fabulous, Audrey became a huge glamour icon,
which was her own personal touch.
Right
now I am sat watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s, with my cat Bluebell, just
admiring the natural beauty of her. Holly and Audrey are very similar when it
comes to their fashion sense, as they both look a million dollars.
She
lived every fashion stylists dream. Could you just imagine being covered in
real diamonds, pearls, Chanel, Dior and Prada? If it was me I would strut down
the streets showing off my expensive glamorous fashion, but instead I settle
for stylish trends such as TopShop and River Island, I may once in a while
treat myself to a Louis Vuitton bag or Chloe but that’s my limit!
Now
back to the modern Audrey Hepburn. I had this crazy Idea to recreate what I, personally
thought would be the modern Audrey Hepburn, because she is irreplaceable.
Audrey wasn’t just known for her style; Audrey touched a lot of people. She had a kind huge heart and
opened up to many people and was an inspiration.
Audrey
was a very sophisticated character. She was elegantly posed, at the same time
dominating. She was the queen of the street and I have been so inspired by her,
she composes herself in a way that presents her as a role model, to young women
everywhere.
I felt
so elegant but powerful. The fashion was so beautiful and stylish.
In this
era, Audrey would still be obsessive over high designers such as Tiffany and Co
and Chanel; however I think the casual look of hers would change. Whether
Audrey was going to a movie premiere or was just going on a day out, her
exaggerated glamour would be carried with her, but in this day and age I think
she would have been subtler. As the saying the simpler the better, she would go
with it. The exquisite love dress worn by Hannah Mansell in the top and bottom
left corners are elegant and classy, which would catch Audrey’s eye. The
shortness of the dress shows how it is from a modern era. The big oversized
checked H&M coat adds to and reflects some of Audrey’s pervious styles in
her era, but works well with this dress, creating a new stylish look. The
plunge neck French connection dress (£220) worn on the previous page will
connote provocativeness; however how the model portrays the dress makes it look
so classy but dominating at the same time is just like what Audrey did! This is
what I was wanting!
