I
have used serif font for my masthead as magazines I have copied such as Vogue
and Elle use this font as it connotes elegance and sophistication. The
font type I have used is called Nouvelle Vague as it has a lot of impact with
it being bold and big. I used the colour white for the masthead as it
contrasted with the background of my cover image, which makes it stand out,
appealing to the audience. I did change the opacity of my masthead as the white
was to bold and bright, which made the magazine to full on.
This is my final colour scheme, which was consistent throughout my magazine.
For
my front cover, I used the colours black, white, lilac and purple. The black
and purple were the dominant colours that were used to emphasise important text
on my front covers, such as the masthead and banners for anchored text. The
lilac and white contrasted with the dark colours and really suited the whole
urban/graffiti theme I had. They matched the model's hair, which made it all
stand out and appealing to the target audience. I used maroon, black and white
colours for my contents page. The maroon contrasted well with the white, so I
used this colour as the banner. I used white and black for my first double page
spread "Breakfast at FUSION" as they matched the feature of Audrey
Hepburn (been in black and white films). Following the Audrey Hepburn article I
carried on for my second double page, the same colours, as it was all one big
article. I mainly did important text in white, so it would stand out. For my
urban title page, I used the colours white and black. I used the white for
quotes as the background was dark, so the white contrasted with it, making it
stand out. I used a white banner and black font for the title, which again made
it stand out and appealing. For my last double page spread I used the colours
grey, purple, black and white. The white was only used for the page numbers.
The grey was used as a background for the main article text, as urban fashion
is very colourful I wanted a variety of colours. The purple was used for the
Urban title, as it is a very dominant colour.
