1. IPSO
(Independent press standard organisation)
They regulate news paper and magazines industry to uphold the Editors Code of Practice.
Invasion or privacy, intrusion into grief or shock and harassment.
I will need to make sure on interviews that I do not harass and act unneeded question that I could potentially publish in my magazine.
I need to gain permission of all models to use images in my magazine.
2. Obscene publications Act
Illegal to publish content that may negatively influence readers.
Nudity
Race
Discrimination
Drug usage
Violence
Graphic images
As my target audience for my magazine is females, 16+ who are adapting new lifestyle, such as colleges, university and work, but are very outgoing/travels and upbeat, I will need to make sure I do negatively influence them. My magazine needs to reflect a positive vibe, so when taking my photos I must make sure the models aren't to revealing and provocative when posing in my magazine because the younger readers are impressionable. They will see the models as Ideal selfs so I have a responsibility to make my models role models.
Another issue I need to avoid in my magazine is discrimination and race, as if I have only white models this could cause problems and could exclude others from reading my magazine.
3. Libel Law
Don't publish anything that is untrue about a person or an event.
Defamatory- i.e anything that would hurt the person, publish untrue information.
(Will be making up articles for magazine, however because it is for educational purposes its okay)
As the articles I am writing are going to be made up (Made up Models) I will be okay writing untrue information about a person, as it is for educational purposes. However the information I write cannot be defamatory.
4. Copyright
Its a type of intellectual property to protect that original work for someone, Any ideas or something someone has made. Stops people from using it and distributing it for profit, unless permission is gained. Copyright Infringement. (Photographs would be something wed need to get permission for)
When taking my photographs I must be aware that business logos or personal products are involved in my photos, as I would not be aloud to distribute these photos for my own, as I would be down for Copyright Infringement, and could get sued. To avoid this I must make sure I take my photos in a public place, as well as blur any business logos that may appear in my photos.
5. Laws of contempt
The Law of contempt is the offence of being disobedient to or disrespectful towards a court of law, and its officers in the form of behaviour that opposes or defies authority, justice, and dignity of the court.
Behaviour of an individual that defies or opposes the authority of the court.
Examples of contempt
Criminal contempt
Civil contempt
Direct contempt
Indirect contempt.
As a journalist you can't publishes anything that will compromises the decision that is made.
Underneath each definition
How i am not going to break that law.

LO2: House Style Ideas- Photography
Front Cover
This is a moodboard for my front cover.
For my front cover I will be using the model Lizzy small. I am wanting to use a medium shot type for my front cover. It is important that I direct my model when taking the photos, I need to ensure she is using direct mode of address, so that she is inviting the audience in. Also I need my model to pose like the images above, they portray attitude and confidence, which will reflect the genre of fashion (urban and high) well. The location will be in Sheffield, and will go with my main cover article, which will be my double spread page.
Contents Page
This is a moodboard for my contents page.
I will be using models Elise Fieldhouse, Lizzy Small, Darcy Green and Kayna Baugh for my contents page. There will be a variety of shot types, as I am wanting to show skills in my photography. I will direct my models to pose to connote confidence and attitude. I will also be choosing the clothing my models wear as I am carrying out a theme for each shoot.
Double Spread
This is a mood board for my Urban/Hipster fashion double page.

Double Spread
This is a mood board for my Urban/Hipster fashion double page.
The models for my Urban/Hipster double page will be Lizzy Small. The costumes will be a variety of clothes matched together, such as check jackets with body suits, ripped jeans with sports bra and knee high soaks/boots skirts and long coats. The location will be in Sheffield city centre around Matilda street as there is a lot of graffiti. I will be doing mostly long and wide shot photos, mostly low to connote dominance.
I will be using the model Hannah Mansell for my Audrey Hepburn recreation shoot. Mise-en-scene is crucial for this double page spread. I will need to think about costumes and accessories. I will be taking a variety of different shot types for this page. Close ups, medium and wide shots will be used. The reason why I will be using a variety of shot types is because I am wanting a lot of images included on my double page spread, as the photography will be my strong point, as well the magazines I copy include a lot of imagery.

LO1- Draft articles
Draft article for my Urban fashion double spread magazine
"Queen of the streets"(cards)
You could argue that Blair Waldorf or Victoria Beckham own the streets, walking around with their fur Chanel boots and their slick Louboutin; however the real queens lie within the streets. Urban fashion is overruling fashion and taking a turn on whats HOT and whats NOT. All over the world women are embracing the freedom of fashion, feeling comfortable with themselves and FINALLY MAKING THIER MARK. In my opinion urban fashion is almost a freedom of speech, being able to reflect who you are with what you wear. Urban fashion expands into a whole new world. Its not just oversized bomber jackets with ripped jeans and an old worn pair of timberlands, its finding who you are.
Hang on though. Urban fashion allows you to bring elements of other fashion styles to create you own unique look. Models Elise Fieldhouse, Lizzy Small, Isobel Williams and Kayna Baugh experiment with the ongoing Urban fashion and create their own individual looks. But what did they think to this new fashion occurrence? Here at FUSION we have interviewed Elise Fieldhouse and Lizzy small on how they created their own urban look, and what they think to the new growing fashion.
Asking the girls how the adapted to the new street fashion
How did you girl adapted to the new street fashion and make it your own?
Elise Fieldhouse: My style has always been retro and grunge like. Depending on season as well, I tend to go down an exotic and bohemian style. When coming into this urban fashion, I wanted to focus on the grittiness of it. I fell in love with the worker style, ripped jeans oversized jackets and timberland boots. I even loved the messy hair style and defined make up that matched it. How I made it my own was the colours I used to match up, as well as bringing body suits into, because I absoulelty love them!
Lizzy Small: I am into vintage and peppy fashion. I'm not girly girl when it comes to skirts and flowery tops as my make up and hair is very dominating and dark to create a hard look. So when experimenting with this new fashion I made sure I brought elements of my personal fashion into this new one by keeping my dominant make up and working around the peppy fashion style I have.
Did you enjoy and like this new fashion style?
Elise Fieldhouse: I absolutely LOVED IT! I found that all though its goes along side a casual look, you very really dressed up and confident, because I found that Urban fashion is the combining of many fashion styles into one. I will defiantly be
Lizzy Small: I was really intrigued by it all. Like Elise said it comes across casual but it gives you such confidence and a new perspective for fashion. I enjoyed the fact I could bring my own personal fashion to it but still have this new look. I also love how my style related to the setting and location where we did the shoot.
Breakfast at FUSION
Living the life of Audrey Hepburn, but with a modern twist. Don't worry this isn't another cliche' Audrey Hepburn article!
We would all love to live the life of the glamouros fashion Icon Hepburn; however unfortunately not all of us can afford to be covered in Chanel head to toe. As we all know the famous Givenchy dress worn in the first scene of Breakfast at Tiffanys literally breaks our hearts and to this day still does. Although the star died 14 years ago, and people may say her glamour died with her, we believe here at Fusion with help from you we can bring her unique classy style back to life.
"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."

LO1- House style moodboards (font, colour scheme, Photography ideas)
This is a screen record of me creating my final Masthead.
I like the different range of san serif and serif font, as they both work very well with the genre and target audience.
